Human Resources Coordinator

Doeren Mayhew is seeking a proactive, detailed-oriented and organized Human Resources Coordinator to join our team in the Troy, Michigan office. The Human Resources Coordinator will gain exposure to a variety of HR activities by providing administrative support to HR team members. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a collaborative, supportive, and entrepreneurial environment. This position requires one to work in the Troy, Michigan office Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Assist HR team members with coordinating on-campus recruiting activities, experienced hire interviews, new hire orientations and continuing professional education activities.
  • Post job ads provided by HR team members to various jobs boards.
  • Initiate candidate background checks and assessments.
  • Manage organization and accuracy of employee personnel files, benefit and I-9 files in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Sending, receiving and filing candidate onboarding documents.
  • Initiate payroll change notifications for HR team members to ensure timely and accurate processing of employee payroll.
  • Assist HR team members with onboarding and offboarding administrative duties as needed.
  • Administer employee gifting initiatives and milestone anniversary rewards program.
  • Manage firm-wide federal and state employment poster compliance.
  • Provide support to Learning & Development Manager with continuing education compliance monitoring and certificate creation.
  • Support HR team members with performance management activities such as troubleshooting software issues and generating performance review status reports.
  • Provide support to HR team members with firm-wide voluntary mentor program.
  • Help Benefits & Payroll Coordinator with research, implementation and facilitation of annual employee wellness event.
  • Collaborate with marketing team members to plan, coordinate and assist with internal firm events and community outreach activities.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by gathering requested documentation and information.
  • Prepare HR reports from various software platforms.
  • Perform other clerical tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration (or similar field) preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a human resources support role (relevant internship experience included)
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
