Retirement Plan Administrator

Doeren Mayhew is seeking a full-time Retirement Plan Administrator to join our Grand Rapids, MI office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer book of client's 401k and 403b retirement plans
  • Prepare valuation reports, perform nondiscrimination testing, asset reconciliation and trust accounting
  • Calculate employer contributions, process loans and distributions and verify eligibility and vesting.
  • Contribute to review of deliverables for accuracy and quality.
  • Prepare annual governmental filings including Form 5500, 8955 and 5330.
  • Communicate with clients and their representatives regarding annual administration, testing, corrections, and related issues via phone and email
  • Research and resolve complex issues relating to plan operations and documents

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum three years of retirement plan administration experience required
  • Hands-on experience with retirement plan recordkeeping systems (e.g. Relius) preferred
  • Work independently with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Adobe PDFs
  • Possess strong time management and organizational skills
  • Possess good interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize with a high level of commitment to accuracy and detail.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage a high volume of concurrent projects
  • Maintain accurate understanding of how our internal processes interact together, at both team and organization levels
  • Available to work extra hours during busy season
